Benefit of Journaling

There are a number of benefits that result from the art of journaling. It is common knowledge that it is a stress reducing when you can empty your feelings and bottled-up emotions from your body. It is great for emotional healing. Further, it is a tool of self-exploration which may also add some order to your life. You can record growth that is immeasurable when you keep a book of your thought development. It improves your writing and ability to state your thoughts on paper, which in helpful when you need to exercise your writing ability, such as writing a report or an analysis. Finally, it provides a routine capable of slowing your busy life and mind. You can reflect about your day.

Journaling About Lucky Coincidences

Now you can take journaling to another level when you record your lucky coincidences. I used to own a journal that had different exercises and places to record dreams. There was a time when my dreams came true, so in a sense this was like a lucky coincidence journal. However, a lucky coincidence journal could give you an additional reassurance in life. We all like to believe that we can create our own luck or that we are in fact lucky. In the theory of Law of Attraction, the more that you are in tune to your lucky coincidences and opportunity, the more that you will be capable of seeing and the more that you will believe that you have the ability to take advantage of those lucky coincidences.

Example of Lucky Coincidences

There have been numerous lucky coincidences in my life. For example, they typically arise when I am a bind. For example, about 20 years ago, I did not have a car and I had just purchased a six-pack of glass frames that are the size for your smaller movie poster. However, I had no means of taking it home. It was not difficult to have walked it from the store to my job, but carrying the frames home by foot was an impossible feat. However, by chance, I met a new person in the cafeteria of the US Department of Commerce, and it was no trouble for him to give me a ride home. What a lucky coincidence!

Recently, I took advantage of the Free Museum Day sponsored by the Smithsonian Magazine. Each person was eligible for a ticket that was good for good persons. So, our family was able to apply for two tickets for the Santa Barbara Botanical Garden. Although the day turned out to coincide with Carmageddon II (the I-405 closure between the I-10 and the I-110 so that part of the Mulholland drive bridge in the Sepulveda Pass could be replaced, we had no problem departing and returning to Los Angeles. Not only did we have a wonderful day hiking int he Botanical Garden but during the last activity there, the gift shop, I discovered Sinus Balm by Kettle Care. I was so thrilled by this new found discovery that I wrote about it in a Squidoo lens, but in doing my research, I decided to sign up for the Kettle Care newsletter. In the newsletter that referred me to an Organic Gardening magazine about Lynn Wallingford, I saw a picture of her with a sprayer on her back (in a backpack). This motivated me to clean my existing sprayer that was clogged by gardening byproduct (I did not strain the worm casting but merely diluted it). Not only did I clean it, I had always wanted to increase the fertilization of my indoor plants and also take better care of my plastic gardening tools and aids (the sun is brutal in Los Angeles). So, my from trip to Santa Barbara Botanical Garden, I had two lucky coincidences that have truly improved my life: (1) discovering Sinus Balm and (2) seeing a picture of someone actually using a canister for gardening sprayer to improve her garden.

What Information to Put In Your Journal

Life is so mystical that no two persons could experience the same event due to different perceptions and interpretations. At minimum, you want to record an entry or event daily, if not shortly after the occurrence. You want to describe what you had needed or wanted and how it came about that you were able to address your need. What did you do that was ordinary or unique?

In the example of the Santa Barbara bontanical garden, the most interesting aspect of the entire event is that we did not let Carmageddon II deter our need to leave town. We were not discouraged from talking an alternative route, in this case Beverly Glen and then the I-101 to leave Los Angeles. Further, when we were in the gift shop, we did not just tell ourselves that this is just a typical overpriced gift shop. We sincerely looked to see if there were different and interesting merchandise. My husband was so intrigued about a compass that was embedded into a walking stick. He even mentioned that he wanted to buy a good compass and embed it into the walking stick that we made for our son while we were at Yosemite National park. I also did not disregard items near the cash register. We were lucky that it was not overcrowded and that we could also browse little items on the counter without being rushed out. I was also methodical about not disregarding the importance of my discovery, and I wanted to tell the world about such a fine company that I had to do additional research about Lynn Wallingford.

Further, I slowed down in the processing of the new research material. I read the entire article in the Organic Gardening magazine on Kettle Care and Lynn Wallingford and also took in all the pretty picture. I even commented to my husband that she was fertilizing all of her organic herbs using the backpack sprayer. I notice the size, color, and shape of the backpack sprayer, and my hsuband even commented about how I could sew a jacket to put my sprayer in it. I think I could use an old backpack and just put the sprayer in it. I had wanted to add more fertilizer to my raised beds from this point on because I could tell that I was under fertilizing my plants.

When I cleaned out the sprayer in the kitchen sink, I realized that that I was minimizing the effective of the sprayer by clogging the black hose and sprayer. I also minimized my desire to use it when I left it empty and dirty outside. I carefully cleaned all parts of it, and kept it full of fertilizer water. Immediately, my indoor plants received the serendipitious discovery of Kettle Care.
