It is time to think about cute Christmas cookies again. What makes a cookie cute? Hare are some of the answers -- animals, color, Christmas-themed, simplicity in idea, winter, stars, snowflakes. Because they are so cute, they are fun to make and share. They definitely bring a little bit of joy to those who are taking one. They are great for cookie exchanges and potlucks. Why not bring some fun to those you think about during this holiday season.

Simple Technique to Outline Snowflake Cookies

Royal Icing Using Meringue Powder

4 c powdered sugar

2/3 c sugar

thin licorice

375 degree oven. Mix and form a roll to refrigerate. Slice the dough and roll to 1/4". Use a mitten cookie cutter. Make 2 different color dough and shape into rectangular shapes. Refrigerate. These are really cute examples of decorated cookies. Christmas may be over for this year, but these ideas are adaptable for every holiday season and I intend to keep them in mind. Thanks!

Thanks, RTalloni.I think small children do not associate certain cookies with certain holidays. Cute is all year round.

Thanks, homesteadbound. Themed cookies are considered fancier, and I have noticed a lot of people giving cookies and pastries as gifts because food tends to be better group gifts. Here in Los Angeles, there is a Cuban bakery shop that has a waiting period of over an hour right before the holidays.

Wish I'd discovered these techniques during Xmas. But I suspect they can be adapted to other holidays. Voting this Up and Useful.
